Michael Bray, Jr.
January 13, 1975 - October 12, 1999
Michael was born on a snowy morning, January 13th, 1975. He was my third child. My last baby and only boy. His two older sisters were 2 years old and 11 months old. Having the three of them so close together made them close friends as well as siblings.
Michael loved football. He played from 1st grade all through 12th grade. In his senior year he was made all area center.
After school Michael joined the army. He was following in his big sitser Shelly's footsteps. His unit deployed to Haiti on a peace keeping mission. He couldn't believe how poor the people were.
At 19 years old, Michael married and became a dad. His son, Kaleb, meant everything to him. He was a loving patient dad. He spent hours playing with Kaleb or watching movies with him. Kaleb still remembers his dad and what he meant to him.
After he got out of the army, he started working at Cannon Muskegon. The work was hard and dangerous. On a warm and sunny fall day, a furnace exploded and Michael was his with hot molten metal. He died the next day, October 12th, 1999.
Not a day goes by that we don't think of him. We think of the way he loved and not the way he died. Hichael loved life and enjoyed it to the fullest. He was the one that made us laugh at family dinners.
I know someday we will see Michael again. Also Brandon, our grandson. I'm sure they are together in Heaven looking out for us. Rest In Peace, Michael and Brandon! We love and miss you both so much.
